Ever the innovator, Italian designer Gianfranco Frattini cleverly combined form and function with this marble floor lamp originally designed in 2003. Frattini created a simple mechanism that allows the light source to move, diffusing the light upward or directing it downward. To maintain the slim structure, tension cables add graceful stability and complement the matte black center rod. One of the last pieces Frattini designed for a small Italian lighting company, it’s now reimagined for a new audience with a dome top of frosted glass and a round base of sleek Marquina black marble.
